The Lawley Shipyard on Port Norfolk was a fixture on the Dorchester scene from the 19teens till after World War II.

My grandmother, Louise Esther Wright (b. 1897) grew up on Ericsson St. Her father, who was also a nailmaker at the Putnam Nail Co., was a watchman at the shipyard. I suppose my grandmother must have spent a great deal of time at Tenean Beach. Thank you for sharing.
