Dorchester Illustration of the Day no. 2027
Postcard. Caption on front: Ye Olde Blake House, Dorchester, Mass. Postally unused.
This card, from about 1920, shows the Blake House with a metal sign posted in the front yard. Also note the sign at far right that says Richardson [Park].
From tree-ring analysis we know that the timbers for the Blake House were felled in the winter of 1660-1661, so it is likely that the Blake House was built in the summer of 1661.
