Dorchester Illustration of the Day no. 2054 Everett Appleton House

Dorchester Illustration of the Day no. 2052

Photo of painted brick showing the Everett Appleton House–in the Huebener brick collection at the Dorchester Historical Society.  Edward Huebener collected bricks from Dorchester buildings and had a portrait of the building painted on the face of the brick.

This house stood where the Edward Everett School is located today on Pleasant Street.  Built in 1779 by Moses Everett, minister of the First Parish Church, the house was demolished in 1909 when the new Edward Everett School was built, moving from its location off Sumner Street
